A fascinating and poignant telling of the author’s journey around the world by the most dangerous travel routes. The author does an excellent job of making the story about the human experiences of those traveling by the same routes. He also manages to still describing enough of the planes, trains, buses & boats to give the reader an idea how unpleasant this sort of travel can be, without turning it into a horror show.
