Reviewer's Notes
I actually finished this a couple of weeks ago but forgot to come back and add my notes about it, sorry about that. Overall, I found this book a highly enjoyable read. However I enjoyed it rather like most people enjoy looking at car accidents. I know it\’s bad but I just couldn\’t look away. The premise was waaaay out there but somehow I\’m now expecting Hollywood to pump this out someday as a summer blockbuster, multimillion dollar action flick. To give you an idea of what the book is like there is a point where the main character takes control of an experimental satellite-killer space shuttle (previously stolen by Chinese spies) and lands it outside a secret Air Force base. After landing, the shuttle is attacked by some treacherous Air Force personnel via helicopter but the main character uses the shuttle\’s ejection seat to escape from the shuttle a split second before a missle launched from the helicopter blows it up. Then using a portable rocket launcher scavanged from the shuttle –while still flying out of the shuttle on the ejection seat– shoots down the helicopter. It\’s ridiculous. Most of the action throughout the book is similar; and after you get going, it\’s really hard to set down.
