I’m going to be moving the CoffeeBear.net from Digital Sense Hosting to Web Key Design. I’m making this move for 2 reasons and neither of them is any real fault of Digital Sense.
Reason #1: I can get pretty much the same package from Web Key Design as I can from Digital Sense Hosting, but for a couple bucks cheaper over the year.
Reason #2: Web Key Design is being run by a friend of mine.

This change over will be happening sometime in the next few days and may cause some temporary interrupt in our daily waste of your time. We apologize for any extra work that you may have to do as a result of this interruption and appreciate your patience.

Update [05 June 2005, 12:46 (-06:00 GMT)]: The move to the new webhost has been completed and everything (except for the SSGSPDS pages) appears to be working correctly. I’m working on getting that last bit setup correctly on the new host, but it might be a couple of days yet before it’s functional. If you do encounter any problems with CoffeeBear.net; let me know. Thanks!

Update [07 June 2005, 22:19 (-06:00 GMT)]: the SSGSPDS pages are now up and running again. All praise WKD for their assistance in this matter! 🙂

Instant-Failure Stealth Levels. Ack. This brings back horrible memories of a Goldeneye level where if you tripped an alarm, an infinite number of bad guys poured forth. We knew a man who failed that level 37 times, then got the Infinite Health cheat for it and came back. He intentionally tripped the alarm, the guards rushed out. Laughing maniacally, he proceeded to shoot those fuckers for four hours, killing 1,183 of them – 682 with groin shots – before his thumbs cramped up. Your game should not create this kind of bitterness.

Amen to that!

In a time long ago, when Ariesna was first moving in with me, we purchased a pine coffeetable at a garage sale for ~$251. It was nothing special, just something that we knew would serve as a place to rest our feet on from the couch and a spot to drop some books. When we bought it; we didn’t really care for the finish on it and said we’d redo it one of these days. About seven years later, Mamabear started making comments about moving back to Michigan; I knew I’d better get off my duff and get the table redone while I still had a friendly garage to do it in. Since this was Memorial day weekend; I figured it was the perfect time to tackle this summer project. I intended from the start to document this project, but got a bit excited about doing this myself and forgot to take pictures of the table before I started. Prior to beginning the project, the finish on the table completely obscured the wood grain and was an olive-tan color. Definitely an ugly beast.

Saturday, we got up and went over to our local Lowe’s store to pick up some needed supplies. Before I go into any further details on this project; I’m going to remind you to read and follow all the safety instructions from the manufacturer on whatever chemicals or tools that you use when doing this sort of thing. Some of the stuff used can be extremely dangerous if mishandled!

Most Wednesdays, myself and a couple of co-workers will walk to the nearby dealer of our espresso fix, the Terrapin. Upon returning to the office today, one my co-workers chanced to remark:

This job has sucked every scrap of knowledge out of my skull and all of my will to live… Oooo bagels!
