MySQL Tips?

Nearly 2 months ago, I started a new job that requires I play with MySQL all day long. Mostly, I use MySQL’s Query Browser (part of their GUI-Tools package). I was curious if any of my readers would happen to have favorite tips, tricks or sites related to MySQL? If so, please make a note in the comments on this post.

This post is a thank you to all the friends and family who showed up to help us move to our new house over the weekend.

Thanks people, we wouldn’t have made it without all your help!

Moving Day

Those of you who know me personally have probably heard I’m moving. Well, tomorrow is the big day! Due to the move, it’s unlikely I’ll be online much1 for the next few days. If you must get in contact with me, your best bet is to send me a note via my Gmail account. If you’re not sure what that email addy is you can try using .

1 We won’t even have working Internet service at the house until Tuesday at the earliest.

Argh, mateys, today is th' official day t' talk like a pirate, with a chest full of booty! So be sure t' tell yer shipmates t' swab th' poopdeck lest they have t' walk th' plank!

One of the things I find interesting about my new job doesn’t actually have anything to do with what I work on. Rather it’s how I find my mind associating the appearance and behavior of my new co-workers with people I knew at previous jobs. For instance, the guy in the cubicle next to me is a weird blend of “The Bird”, Tony and Frankie. ๐Ÿ˜€

For those of you who know the people I’m referring to, I can say yes that is as ridiculous and funny as it sounds.

For those of you who don’t know the people I’m talking about, trust me it’s funny.
