It’s not been a good weekend for my sleep schedule. When I tried to get to sleep this morning1)Don’t ask how early it was when I went to bed.; I heard the toilet running. I got up, took a look at it and ended up just turning the water off to it. Later after I’d gotten up for the day; I poked around at it a bit. From what I could tell the problem was with the flapper value not sealing properly.
As I was planning on hitting up Home Depot anyway2)To get more drywall mud, I decided to pick up a new flapper. When I got it home, I swapped out the old flapper for the new one; unfortunately it was still leaking. So we took it back to Home Depot where they kindly let me return the new flapper. Then we bought a kit to replace everything in the toilet tank. I then
with hate overflowing from the depths of my soul joyfully spent the next couple of hours working on fixing the toilet.
On the bright side, I only cut myself once the entire time I was working on the toilet3)When I was cutting some tubing to the proper length to connect the fill valve to the overflow pipe. and the toilet is no longer leaking.
