Photo 1: Day 251: Tunnel, No Light This photo is of a hole in the ground that we’ve been wondering what is ever since we moved into our house several years ago. The hole appears to be a threaded pipe of some kind.
Photo 2: This sinkhole started appearing a couple of weeks ago to the side of the mystery hole. Not sure what to do about it and suspecting it’s in the area of our water main and/or sewer lines; we called the city to investigate it.
Photo 3: While the city hasn’t given us an update on what might is causing the sinkhole; they did come out, paint some blue lines on the ground and install this cap on the mystery hole. Which leads me to believe the mystery hole is actually the external shut off valve for our house’s water main.
