Over the weekend, Ariesna and I went to the Robert Burn’s dinner put on by HAGGIS. It was fun, though I did end up slightly annoyed. As none of our raffle tickets won anything and my friend Greg won a bottle of wine… just after he left. *grumble, grumble* Then on Sunday, I wasn’t feeling so hot which blew up into a full-blown cold today. Bah-humbug.

Still, being home all day gave me a chance to catch up on watching some of the anime I’ve been downloading. Some of it’s good and some of it’s not, which means I’ve got more to watch but I’ve also deleted some to free up drive space. More free drive space, means I can download more newer stuff. 🙂

In other news, one of my slightly, older posts has been getting a bit of attention from somebody out there. I guess I’ll have to keep watching that post to see how the discussion goes.

Snowy Tree

As I’m sure I’ve mentioned previously, I live in Iowa. The last couple of years we’ve had cold winters but haven’t really had that much snow. Apparently, Mother Nature was feeling it’s time to rectify that situation and we’ve been having quite the snowstorm. Seeing how I like taking pictures and dislike getting cold; here’s a quick shot I took out my bedroom window. I apologize for the grainess of the image, but I took the picture during my lunch hour and I didn’t have enough time to try removing the window screen before taking it. That and I didn’t want to stand around outside in the cold taking photos; unlike some people I’m not all that eager to suffer for my art. 😀

This post was brought to you via the nagging of Pukka. That’s right Pukka; this post’s for you. :p

Sorry for the lack of regular updates of late but with the holidays coming up; I’ve been kind of busy. Also, I’ve been working on a not-really super, secret project for a friend. Said project needs to be complete by 1 Janurary 2005; so that’s where I’m focusing a good chunk of my enery for now.

However, I will throw out the following bone to clam your rampant desire for more stuff to be happening with CoffeeBear.net. This site is now Gravatar enabled. Gravatar is a central service for avatars or user pics. Basically, you sign up with the service, upload an 80×80 image and then on any Gravatar enabled website; your comments will be displayed with your avatar. Mind you the websites can add restrictions to their pages; for example here on CoffeeBear.net, I limit the displayed image to 40×40 and require the image to be rated PG or less. Oh yeah, that’s another thing about Gravatar; though it will let you upload any image you like, the image has to be rated by their staff before you can use it. The end result is that when you leave a comment; you get to have a small picture of yourself (or whatever) attached to that comment. As an extra bonus, that same picture will get used on all other Gravatar enabled sites. Enjoy!

It has been many years since I’ve written you a letter; for that I am sorry. As it turns out, I’m absolutely rotten about keeping up my correspondence with people and I really should try harder at it. Hopefully, this doesn’t put me on your naughty list and I’d rather not find coal in my stocking this year. Enclosed you will find a list of things that I would like for Christmas.

Best Wishes,
Mark

P.S. Do you prefer chocolate chip or sugar cookies?

1 Said PDF file was autogenerated by the MiniUSA.com. While I’m generally against websites relying so heavily on Flash; their site just rocks. Plus, I’m lusting after their cars. Too bad my site is so unknown that I can’t get them to uhhh, sponsor me with a free car. *grin*
2 Forty million just has a nice ring to it and is something of an in-joke to me.
